Overview
Public Companies Realized Price is the volume-weighted average acquisition cost per BTC across all tracked publicly traded companies (Strategy, MARA, Tesla, Riot, Coinbase, etc.). It reflects the aggregate cost basis of corporate Bitcoin treasury strategies.
Interpretation
- Below spot: Public companies are collectively profitable on BTC — positive for stock valuations and continued accumulation
- Above spot: Corporate treasuries underwater — may trigger impairment charges and selling pressure
- Heavily influenced by Strategy (largest holder) — their DCA strategy dominates the weighted average
Use Cases
- Gauging corporate sector Bitcoin profitability relative to market price
- Comparing to government and private sector realized prices
- Assessing impairment risk for publicly traded Bitcoin holders
